台灣16歲女孩周子瑜前晚「被道歉」，不僅引發全國民眾憤怒情緒，各國網友也自發在各大社群平台跨國聲援，以子瑜的「瑜」英文發音＂Yu＂，發起＃standbyyu活動；《蘋果動新聞》特別將Ben E. King的藍調名曲”Stand By Me”改編成”Stand By Yu”，製作《站在你身邊》MV，表達「力挺子瑜，我們站在你身邊」之意。
