去年秋天十五歲以下的法國學生結束暑假返校時，他們意識到以後上學期間再也不能使用智慧型手機了。這完全是因為法國的立法者在 2018 年的八月通過了一項禁令，規定手機要嘛就放在家裡，不然就是關機。這還包括使用電腦、平板和其他可連上網路的裝置。立法者註明殘疾學生、於教育用途及課外活動可以有例外。法國高中生也倖免於這項新政策，但如果有個別高中願意的話，也可以選擇參與這項禁令。
