中國排球總教練郎平周日（21日）帶領中國女子排球隊在里約奧運拿下金牌，是中國女排第3次拿下金牌。本屆奧運淘汰賽時，中國連勝尋求3連霸地主巴西，後來又擊敗曾經在預賽贏過她們的荷蘭和塞爾維亞。
中國女排1984年在洛杉磯首次奪金時，郎平擔任主攻手，這次也是她教練生涯第1次帶隊在奧運決賽奪金，成為中國女排史上第一位球員、總教練身分都奪金的選手。

郎平從中國國家隊退役後，到美國留學、義大利職業聯賽出賽；而就練生涯流浪各地，1996年率中國在亞特蘭大奧運出賽，但在2005年，因為女兒在美國生活，美國女排有奪冠潛力，她接受美國邀請擔任女排教練，在2008年率美國隊在北京奪得奧運銀牌，在預賽時甚至打敗中國隊。她在2009年又回到中國執教，2013年4月接任中國國家女子排球隊主教練。（蘇立／綜合外電報導）
