Alton Sterling was known throughout his Baton Rouge neighborhood as the “CD guy,” he was reportedly a generous giant to his family and friends, and a loving dad to his five children.
And now, he’s gone, after being hit with multiple gunshots by two white police officers on July 5 at 12:35 a.m.
This video is taken by a bystander outside a convenience store where Alton Sterling was known to sell CDs.
The police were responding to a disturbance call at that location from someone saying they were being threatened by a man with a gun.
After initially attempting to taser Sterling, the cops pinned him to the ground and prepared to use deadly force.
Triple S Food Store owner Abduallah Muflahi was a friend of Sterling’s and watched his friend die.
He reports Sterling was indeed armed with a gun after being mugged a while back, but had not threatened anyone. Muflahi has since provided new footage of the incident.

Officers Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake have been placed on administrative leave. Suspiciously, their body cams reportedly “fell off” during the scuffle with Alton Sterling.
With the 37-year-old dead, protests have been mounting across the country, the internet has also been sounding off in routine fashion, all while his family is left to mourn the giant hole left in their lives.
