洛杉磯一座在一千英呎高處的玻璃溜滑梯，在6月底正式對大眾開放了。
這座溜滑梯名叫Skyslide，位在洛杉磯市區、聯邦銀行大廈的69和70樓之間。
聯邦銀行大廈是加州最高的建築，在全美則是第12高。
這座溜滑梯有45呎長、4呎寬，還是用1.25吋厚的三層玻璃打造而成。
溜滑梯本體是由直升機吊上大樓樓頂，再用複雜的滑輪系統將它定位和固定。
這座溜滑梯經過好幾個月的測試，包括將它裝滿沙包，以測試它的最大壓力等級。
據悉，這座溜滑梯能承受時速高達110哩的颶風風力，也堅固到能撐住兩頭藍鯨。
大廈的業主表示，他們希望Skyslide會成為洛杉磯的招牌，吸引更多人到市區觀光。

A glass slide suspended 1,000 feet above ground in Los Angeles opened to the public on June 25.
The Skyslide is positioned between the 70th and 69th floor of the U.S. Bank Tower in Downtown Los Angeles.
The U.S. Bank Tower is the tallest building in California and the 12th tallest in the country.
The slide itself is 45-feet long and 4 feet wide. It is made of 1.25 inch-thick three-ply glass.
The slide was airlifted to the top of the building by helicopter...before it was fixed into position using a complex pulley system.
The slide went through months of testing involving loading it full of sandbags to test for its maximum stress level.
The slide is said to be able to resist hurricane-force winds up to 110 miles per hour and strong enough to hang two blue whales.
The owner of the building said they hope the Skyslide will become a signature of Los Angeles and encourage more people to visit the downtown area.
