These two women are being booked by police for some pretty heavy shoplifting.
According to reports, during the fall of 2015, they were in the habit of jacking expensive merchandise from a couple Wal-Mart locations, and then selling the items to a local pawn shop near Myrtle Beach.
As police are writing them up, Laquandra Borden decides she’s not ready to go to jail, and in the heat of the moment, attempts to shake the cops.
One of the officers hangs onto the jeep, while another grabs onto the door. A third officer joins the fray, but Borden is undeterred.
With an officer still clinging to the inside of the vehicle, Borden backs up as far as she can, and then steps on the gas to begin a Hollywood-style car chase.
According to police, one of the officers managed to shoot Borden in the arm as she was leaving the parking lot, but she kept on going.
As the dashcam video shows, the cops aren’t about to let her get away. Police reports indicate spike strips were deployed to knock out her tires, making sure she didn’t get too far.
But as one witness reported, Borden kept on going for as long as she could, the tires rolling on their rims for several blocks until the jeep finally gave out.
It sure took a while, as Borden swerves through oncoming traffic, doing all she can to evade her fate. But inevitably, it seems she realizes she’s going down, and swerves back into her lane to continue on until her jeep finally slows to a full stop.
Sirens blaring, police are quick to swarm, with guns raised as they creep closer to the driver’s side door. Five officers move in immediately, as another handful soon follow.
The cops try to pry the door open to apprehend Borden, but struggle with her for a few more seconds.
Eventually as the other five officers surround the car, they’re able to remove the crook and take her to the ground.
Borden is now facing charges of hit and run, shoplifting, criminal conspiracy, assault of a high and aggravated nature and first degree assault and battery.
