Remember Melissa Click?
You know, that so-called Assistant Professor of Communication at Mizzou.
The one who was filmed back in November trying to shut down a student journalist covering the protests against perceived racial bias at the university.
Well, she’s back.
And it’s not looking good for her, after new footage of her yelling a curse word at police recently surfaced.
In the clip from October 10, Click and a bunch of students are blocking the road ahead of the university’s Homecoming Parade.
Police officers move in to clear the protesters from the road.
As they start to usher the students onto the sidewalk, Click forces her way between the protesters and the officers.
She can be heard saying “get your hands off the children.”
Then, when one of the officers puts his hand on her shoulder, she responds with a profanity that you can just about hear over the noise.
The footage was obtained by The Missourian under an open records request. It’s already been seen by the university’s top brass and they are not happy.
The university’s Interim Chancellor Hank Foley, said to the Missourian a statement that:
“Her conduct and behavior are appalling, and I am not only disappointed, I am angry, that a member of our faculty acted this way."
Click, who was suspended and banned from campus late last month over the original November incident, has said she “will fight to be treated fairly,” and wants her job back.
But what do you think? Does one of America’s better universities deserve faculty like Click? Organize your own protest in the comments.
