當然，這篇又愚笨又殘酷的PO文，引發了強烈反彈。
最直接的反應是，Katie臉書上的朋友用各種負面的詞語來罵她，比方說：噁心、可惡、白痴、婊子…等。
被指責的Katie竟然還辯稱，她只把狗的嘴黏住60秒而已，況且，不是很多人都會用嘴套，把狗嘴給套起來嗎？
她這愚蠢的發言，馬上就被一個朋友反駁，他清楚指出，嘴套跟封箱膠帶完全不同。
然而不只Katie的臉書朋友採取行動，由於她臉書帳號註冊的地址是佛羅里達州南代托納市（South Daytona），當地警局亦接到全世界湧來的電話和電郵，癱瘓了他們的伺服器和電腦。
然而，其實這張照片有可能是在康乃狄克州雅文市（Avon, Connecticut）拍的。根據《奧蘭多前哨報》（Orlando Sentinel）報導，Katie從去年起，便住在該市。
警方已在調查整起事件，他們訊問了Katie的兒子，而他表示，這隻狗兒現在平安無恙。
然而Katie本人可就沒那麼平安了。她似乎已被憤怒的鄉民肉搜，個人資訊遭曝光。

A Florida woman is feeling the wrath of furious social media users after posting a photo online of her dog with it's mouth wrapped shut with what appears to be duct tape.
The reason? Well… Katie Brown apparently couldn't stand her dog's loud barking...
So she decided to teach the poor animal a lesson and put an end to its incessant woofing using the famously strong adhesive.
She next, for some reason known only to her, snapped a photo and took to social media to show off her fancy work presumably to other owners of unruly beasts.
The post, which has since been shared more than 300,000 times, came packaged with the caption: “This is what happens when you don’t shut up!!!.”
Unsurprisingly, the both dumb and cruel post got a very strong reaction.
The direct responses see her Facebook friends call her every negative name under the sun from disgusting, douchebag, retard, bitch and more...
The accused attempted to justify her actions by pointing out she'd only taped the mouth of the animal in her care shut for a measly 60 seconds...
And that others sometimes muzzle their dogs. A foolish point a friend of hers responded to by clearly pointing out that there's a difference between a muzzle and duct tape.
It wasn't just her friends who took action, though. Police in South Daytona, Florida, where Katie's account lists her residence...
Say they've received calls from around the world and enough emails to shut down their email servers and computers.
The photos, however, were most likely actually taken in faraway Avon, Connecticut, where, according to the Orlando Sentinel, Katie has lived for the last year.
Police looking into Brown's actions reportedly spoke with her son who says the family's dogs are indeed safe and sound.
The same may soon not be said for Katie herself who looks to already be a victim of some preliminary doxing.
As sweet as swift Internet justice can often be, however, disgruntled social users have already gotten the attention of local authorities who are investigating the matter, so this time around it’s largely unnecessary. Put down those pitchforks folks!
