An 18-year-old man has died from his injuries after being chased by police a day earlier in a residential neighbourhood in Normandy, Missouri.
Reports indicate that at around 2 p.m., Amonderez P. Green was threatening to commit suicide, so his family called police for help.
Officers from Normandy and nearby Ferguson responded. The officers claim that when confronted, Green became hostile and shot at them.
One of the officers used a taser to subdue Green, but when that failed to stop him, they too opened fire.
Green somehow dodged their bullets and scrambled away by cutting through backyard lots and scaling fences.
Police say they tried to track Green down, but moments later heard a gunshot. They found the teen unresponsive with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Witnesses in the neighborhood, say this wasn't the case at all—they believe the cops chased Green down and shot him. Some even claim to have seen it happened.
Eyewitness videos taken on smartphones have been circulating online, with people claiming this was indeed a case of police brutality, with a cover up now at work.
Police officials maintain that Green shot himself under the chin, the city of Ferguson even tweeted that its officers did not shoot Green. As the evidence continues to come out, many are demanding that the truth does, too.
