The gunman who killed a Dallas dentist on September 2 has been arrested, police say.
A dental hygiene student, the ex-girlfiend of the slain dentist’s boyfriend, is the suspected mastermind behind the murder-for-hire plot.
Brenda Delgado, a dental hygiene student, borrowed a Jeep Cherokee from an unidentified individual who contacted police when he saw photos of the vehicle in the news.
Delgado, the jealous ex-girlfriend of her alleged victim’s boyfriend, was believed to have paid Crystal Cortes to be a getaway driver for Kristopher Love, a hired killer.
Cortes, a former dental assistant, said Delgado used an iPhone to track Brenda Hatcher’s location. She and Love followed the victim to the parking lot of her luxury apartment.
The two parked and waited for Hatcher to park. Cortes’ attorney said Cortes thought the plan was to simply scare and rob Hatcher, but Love fatally shot the victim.
As Hatcher laid dead on the ground, Love took her belongings and escaped along with Cortes before police arrived.
Delgado was reportedly jealous of Hatcher, who was in a relationship with Delgado’s ex-boyfriend, Ricardo Paniagua. This is believed to be the catalyst for the murder.
Delgado is a fugitive and is still being hunted by the authorities.
