2 women fatally shot, 3 more injured in Chicago South Side shooting.
The 5300 block of South Aberdeen street was the scene of a deadly shooting that saw a mother and grandmother killed this week.
A family coming home from an outing Monday evening was shot at by an unknown gunman in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.
The shooter or shooters reportedly pulled up in a car and opened fire on the 2 women, 2 men, and 11-month-old baby.
The baby was shot on the lower left side, his mother on her right side, his grandmother on the leg, and the two men in the legs and abdomen.
The baby’s aunt reportedly heard the gunshots and ran out to find her family on the ground bleeding.
Police officers responding to the scene rushed the baby to the hospital instead of waiting for paramedics.
The baby is in a stable condition, but his mother and grandmother both died from their wounds. The other two men are still in the hospital.
The incident follows a particularly violent weekend that saw a dozen people killed and many more injured in shootings across the city.
