英國航空2276號班機，當時正要從拉斯維加斯麥卡倫機場（McCarran Airport）起飛，下午四點多，飛機左側引擎突然著火。
這架波音777飛機載有159名乘客與13名機組員。後門一開，濃密黑煙便竄入機艙，乘客紛紛逃至機艙前端。
機組員設置了緊急滑梯，疏散乘客。下午4時18分，所有乘客皆已成功下機。
這起意外造成至少14人受傷，多半是使用緊急滑梯時，造成的擦傷或瘀傷。
當局並未立即說明起火原因。美國聯邦航空總署（FAA）正在調查此事。

More than a dozen people were injured on Tuesday when a BA passenger jet caught fire just before takeoff in Las Vegas.
Shocked witnesses posted clips of the event to social media.
British Airways Flight 2276 was about to depart from McCarran Airport in Las Vegas when its left engine caught fire shortly after 4 p.m.
The Boeing 777 was carrying 159 passengers and 13 crew members. When the back door was opened, black smoke poured in and passengers rushed to the front.
The emergency slides were deployed and the aircraft was evacuated. All passengers had disembarked by 4:18 p.m.
At least 14 people were treated for injuries, mainly cuts and bruises that occurred as passengers went down the evacuation slides.
Authorities did not immediately say what caused the fire. The FAA is investigating.
