Tina：Larry, get up please. You're embarrassing yourself.
蒂娜：賴瑞，快起來啦。你這樣是在讓自己難堪。
Larry：What? I thought that this was what you wanted.
賴瑞：什麼？我以為這是妳想要的。
Tina：It was! Not anymore. I don't think you can handle the commitment.
蒂娜：曾經是。但現在不是了。我不覺得你有辦法做到婚姻當中的承諾。
Larry：I've thought about it for a long time and I'm ready.
賴瑞：我已經考慮很久，也準備好結婚了。
Tina：Well, I'm not. There is no way I'll marry you right now.

Larry：So, that's it? I guess we're finished.

Tina：No, Larry. I just don't want to marry you at this moment. Let's still date and keep talking about it.

embarrass 是及物動詞，表「使……尷尬／難堪」，其後接對象。而它的形容詞有 embarrassed（感覺尷尬的）與 embarrassing（令人尷尬的），分別表被動與主動的概念。如：Doris felt embarrassed when the young man ask about her age.（當那個年輕人問桃樂絲幾歲時，她覺得很尷尬。）或：It was quite embarrassing for me to go to my ex-boyfriend's wedding.（去參加我前男友的婚禮實在頗為尷尬。）
commitment是「承諾」的意思，make a commitment指「許下承諾」。而make a commitment to sth 則表「全心投入做某事」。而 commit oneself to N/V-ing 則有兩種用法：
a.表「對……作承諾／擔保」，如：Henry can never commit himself to a job for more than six months.（亨利做任何工作都無法保證能做半年以上。）
b.表「致力於……」，即等於devote oneself to N/V-ing。如：Dr. Chen has committed himself to researching brain cancer for 20 years.（陳醫生致力於研究腦癌已經二十年了。）
