【張豪傑╱譯自法新社】美國航太總署二十二日發表一張由哈伯望遠鏡所拍攝的新照片，明亮的藍色星群圍繞這個曾是一般螺旋狀銀河系的微黃色核心，宛如一條鑲鑽手鍊。這個閃閃發光的藍色星系直徑有十五萬光年，比我們所居住的銀河系還要大。這個銀河系的編碼為AM 0644-741，被歸類成所謂的「環狀銀河系」。
【AFP】Resembling a diamond-encrusted bracelet, a ring of brilliant blue star clusters wraps around the yellowish nucleus of what was once a normal spiral galaxy in this new image released on April 22, 2004 from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The sparkling blue ring is 150,000 light-years in diameter, making it larger than our entire home galaxy, the Milky Way. The galaxy, cataloged as AM 0644-741, is a member of the class of so-called 'ring galaxies.'
