可能你也有過到醫院探病的經驗，當你千里迢迢或者下班後趕去醫院探病，但到達時已過了探病時間，所以最好事前先問清楚探病時間：When are visiting hours? (探病時間是何時呢?)，同時也要注意有特別規定，例如：No visitors allowed (不淮探病) / Only two visitors per patient (每位病人只准兩位訪客探訪)等等。
Martin:Excuse me nurse, can you tell me something?
馬田:護士小姐，請問一下可以嗎？
Nurse:Certainly. What can I do to help?
護士:可以，有什麼可以為你效勞？
Martin:I want to see my friend and make him feel better. When are visiting hours?
馬田:我想去探望我的朋友，請問探病時間是何時呢？
Nurse:Well if he's in here you can see him any time but your visit won't make him feel any different I assure you.
護士:假如他在這裡，你可隨時探望他，但我肯定你探望他也不能令他好過。
Martin:What do you mean I know I can cheer him up?
馬田:你是什麼意思？我知道我可以讓他高興。
Nurse:Sir, this is the maternity ward and all our patients here are in the same condition. Pregnant! You must have the wrong floor.
護士:先生，這裡是產房，所有病人都是孕婦，你一定是找錯地方了。
馬田問護士：When are visiting hours?醫院、監獄等的探望時間，叫visiting hours或visiting times。護士可以對馬田說：Visiting times/hours are from 3:00 to 6:00pm（探病時間是下午三時到六時）。
不過，護士發覺馬田找錯了病房，就說：This is the maternity ward. All the patients here are in the same condition（這是產科病房，裡面病人情況都是一樣）。Condition可以指「健康情況」或「長期的疾病」，例如：(1) His condition continues to improve（他的健康繼續好轉）。(2) He was treated for a heart condition（他接受心臟病治療）。說某人患了肺病、皮膚病、肝病、精神病等，英文是He has a lung/skin/liver/mental condition。
Ward是病房。除了產科病房，還有medical ward（內科病房）、surgical ward（外科病房）、isolation ward（隔離病房）、emergency ward（急診病房）。加護病房則叫intensive care unit，也可叫intensive care ward，例如：He has been transferred from the surgical ward to the intensive care unit（他已從外科病房轉往加護病房）。
留意in here這個說法。文法上，你可以說The patients here are in the same condition，也可以說The patients in here等，但in here有「這裡面」含義，here則只是「這裡」。例如在密不透風的房間裡，你可以說：It is very hot in here（這裡很熱）；在烈日當空的沙漠上，則應說：It is very hot here。
