She’s wearing too much make-up.(她化了大濃妝)。 She’s got her war paint on. She’s a painted lady.(她塗脂抹粉)。
Candy: What do you think of Rita? I think you two would be perfect together.
Brian: Yes, she's really nice. But look at her. As usual, she's wearing too much make-up.
Candy: That's exactly why I think you'd be a great couple.
Brian: I don't get it. You know I prefer girls with the natural look. Why would I want to go out with her?
Candy: Because she spends so long putting it on and then taking it off every day, you'll have time to do whatever you want and she won't be bugging you.
Brian: You're right.
She's wearing too much make-up。
She wears / has used / has put on / has applied too much make-up / cosmetics(她塗了太多脂粉),也可以說:She is taking off / removing her make-up / cosmetics(她在卸妝)。
說臉上的化妝品,make-up一字較cosmetics常用,「濃妝」是heavy/thick make-up,「淡抹」則是light make-up,例如:That evening she wore only light make-up, and looked very natural.(那天晚上她只是淡妝,看來十分自然)。
(1) She went to the party with a face thick with slap.(她去參加派對,臉上塗了厚厚一層脂粉)。(2) Except for a little red lipstick, she wore no war paint.(除了擦了一點口紅外,她沒有化什麼妝)。
She carefully touched up / renewed her lipstick in the mirror.
I have a compact in my vanity case.
